Motherhood at Craith Lab

Now that I’ve been a mother for a while, I see my own mother differently. She was right more often than I thought, and I now understand things I found really stupid as a teenager. 

My mom and I are truly best friends. I have so much fun with her, and we do almost everything together. People always see us as an inseparable duo, and I love that! We also share the same interests, like going shopping or enjoying a nice aperitif together. 

Motherhood challenges me to be my most authentic, pure self. To grow, to let go, and at the same time hold on. It is both love and friendship. A bond in which trust grows, where you learn, laugh, and sometimes stumble together. Where you not only care, but also receive immense warmth in return. It is not always perfect, but it is worth more than gold.

Because of them, I know what unconditional love truly means. 

The day I became a mother, my whole world changed.
Since then, I see the world differently—softer, more aware, more patient, and filled with more love. You have taught me to slow down, to truly feel, to find love in the smallest things. 

Your smile makes everything brighter. So smart, so kind, so funny, so charming, and so beautiful. What we share is so pure…a bond I can’t explain, only feel. 

And every day I realize: you are my greatest happiness. 

For me, there is only one text that describes my mother and me. She is my rock in the storm. That means more to me than a thousand words. 

My mom has always been both incredibly strong and endlessly soft at the same time after my dad’s passing. She taught me what strength really looks like — not the loud kind, but the quiet, steady kind that carries you through everything. She never held me back from dreaming or exploring the world, and was always there to catch me when life felt like it was falling apart. We share a professional path, and a love for travel that lives through me. I see the world the same way she does — with curiosity, openness, and joy in the little things. To me, motherhood is giving someone the love and courage to have wings, and always a safe home to fly back to. 

For me, being a mom doesn’t mean being perfect. It means loving you with everything I have. And having you by my side is, every single day, my most beautiful reason to smile 🤍 You are not only my daughter, but my greatest happiness and a part of my heart outside of me. 

The most precious moments in life are the ones we create together. For me, nothing is more valuable than the memories I make with my children. I try to teach them that these are the things that truly matter in life and stay with us forever. Note to myself: also remember this when I’m cleaning up their mess for the third time that day. 🤍
