Craith stories

Anna van der Meij

I think it's important that you stay honest and true to yourself.
Anna is 22 and works as an e-commerce manager at an Antwerp fashion company. That she loves her job and does it with passion is obvious. We start by asking if she would trade her job for a career as a model.

Would you like to work fulltime as a model?

‘I think I’m going to keep my current job, for sure. I really enjoy doing that and can indulge in it. A photo shoot is also a lot of fun of course, but it’s not that I really enjoy being in front of the camera. It’s especially nice because I can help others with it.’

When you were working on your photo shoot just now, it didn’t look like you had to put much effort into it.

‘It’s more acting for me (laughs).’
This is a shoot for Craith Lab, a skincare brand. Do you pay a lot of attention to that?

‘Yes, very much. Ever since I was little, I have been interested in skincare. A cleanser and a day and night cream are the essentials for me. I used to have acne so I had to take care of my skin. Over the years, I’ve also built up a routine that works for me. When we go to festivals, my friends go to sleep with their makeup on. I don’t. I always arrive with a survival kit and spend ten minutes on my skincare before going to sleep.’

You work in the fashion world. Does that mean that you also follow the latest fashion trends yourself?

‘Yes, I do. I also really enjoy forecasting, experimenting and seeing what can or cannot be done. But it’s also a form of self-expression for me. That’s fun and I also feel very confident when I then step out the door and I have something on that is a real trend. Yes, I am really interested in everything fashion.’
