Under his leadership, Craith Lab continues to redefine the possibilities of skincare and anti-aging. In this interview, he shares his visionary view of the future of skincare, the crucial role of epigenetics in their products and how Craith Lab manages to seamlessly combine science and skincare.

We understand that the effectiveness of a skincare product depends not only on its ingredients, but also on how those ingredients are transported and absorbed by our skin cells. We focus on optimizing cell-to-cell transport to ensure our products work optimally and improve skin function. One of the exciting areas we are exploring is the interaction between epigenetics and collagen. Epigenetics plays a crucial role in how our skin ages and responds to various external factors. By understanding these interactions, we can develop innovative solutions that not only improve the appearance of the skin, but also support its health at the cellular. 

As a company, we are not only focused on creating the best formulas; we also care deeply about our environment. We are actively looking for ways to reduce our impact on the environment. One of the most important changes we are making is the gradual relaunch of our airless packaging through refillable options. This initiative allows our customers to see how much product is left in the bottle, while encouraging them to buy refill products later. Our luxury airless packaging maintains its premium feel while minimizing our footprint on the earth.

Our gaze falls on the glittering trophies that sit on a cabinet as silent witnesses to prestigious awards. ‘Of course it’s great to be recognized by international institutions as the best in Europe,’ Peter responds. ‘But the most important thing remains our end users. Their satisfaction and smiles are our greatest reward and our finest trophy. And our beauticians, of course.’ Smeets slides over an announcement of a major event (24 hours with Craith Lab) at the five-star La Butte aux Bois hotel.
